Located in the city's business and commercial district, the hotel is a short walk from Lumpini Park and superb shopping centers. Guests are within seven kilometers of the Chatuchak weekend market, known as the largest market in Thailand and perhaps the world. Expert Tip. Situated 10 kilometers from the hotel, the Grand Palace contains the beautiful Emerald Buddha, a statue of the sitting Buddha that is clothed in gold and comprised of green jade. Legends surround the formation of the magnificent figurine, yet it is believed it was carved no sooner than the 15th century.

I've stayed at the Erawan every time I visit Bangkok. While it's certainly not cheap in keeping with the cheap prices in Thailand, it is simply the best place to hang your hat before heading out to explore this Asian country.

On a whim and a splurge we booked a "spa cottage" -- one of 5 suites they added two years or so back that sit next to the pool on the deck of the hotel. We were glad we did. These suites contain their own spa-treatment facilities and adjoin...
I had a bad experience in Spasso last weekend. The number of "workers" has risen dramatically. It is sad to see how decent local folks out to have a good time with their friends being mistaken as "workers".
