The grounds of the Grand Hotel Imperiale are stunning and the location is great - a quiet spot along Lake Como. However, the room we stayed in was old and stodgy and had an odd smell. If you like activity and restaurant options, stay in Bellagio or Como. I'm sure there were nicer rooms than ours, but we didn't think the accomodation lived up to the website or the price tag. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.
