Grand Hotel Mackinac Island Hotel - Page 1

I recently spent one night with my daughter, son and granddaughter. We were upgraded from one room with 2 dbl. beds to the HUGE Milliken Suite with 3 rooms incl. a 30 foot semi-circular parlor. We were amazed at the space, the luxury and fine furnishings. The dinner was fantastic, all the facilities top grade. It was like living in the gracious 1800's with the "clip-clop" of horses

in our ears. Yes, expensive; but WE got much more than expected with our upgrade. They treat everyone so graciously there. Would recommend it to anyone with a desire for a touch of the "grand".

Expensive--but talked frugal husband into spending for one night's stay. All inclusive. Marvelous lakeview room. Stunning porch, gardens and grounds. Lots of activities. Fabulous dining, and entertainment in several areas . Jazz ensemble in the cupola bistro was terrific. Husband called the food the lobster bisque the best thing he's ever eaten. When we went to check out the next day, HE asked if they had vacancy for another night! (Sadly, they didn't). But that says it all! (One note: Rooms do not have air-conditioning. We were there in mid-September and the lake winds kept the room cool, but some might find it too warm in summer...)

It was absolutely wonderful. It was like being on a cruise without moving. It is expensive but it is worth a visit.

We have stayed at the Grand Hotel many times. The service has always been a more than pleasant experience.

Well, I think that everyone should visit. The space is amazing, everyone, all the people that work here were so nice. Everything in the rooms is up to date. If anything has been sitting on the buffet for more than 15 minutes they take it off and make a new batch. I would just say that the Grand Hotel is perfect.
