This cheerful yellow and white victorian mansion, with its carefully tended gardens and central patio, sets the standard for gracious innkeeping. The Gosby House Inn has 22 individually guest rooms, each more charming than the one beofre. Many have sitting areas with fireplaces, a private patio entrance or window seat. The Carriage House has two deluxe rooms with a spa tub for two, fireplace, and balcony. Many of the recipes in the Four Sisters Inns Cookbook were tested and perfected throughout the Inn each morning in anticipation of the lavish breakfast to come. Afternoon wine and Hors d'oeuvres followed by sherry and dessert welcome you back from a day of exploring. Restaurants, shops and scenic shoreline-walking route are just a few steps from the Gosby House Inn, the choice for romance on the Monterey Peninsula. Gosby House Inn is part of the prestigious Four Sisters Inns, a collection of extraordinary Inns located in the most spectacular region of the West.

Excellent
We were pleasantly surprised as the hotel is only about 2 years old. It is very polished and the staff was very courteous and helpful. It is conveniently located and has a terrific view of the entire city and the surrounding area from the top of...

My Husband took me here for my birthday four years ago (before we were married). This year we will be returning to celebrate our one year anniversary. The location is perfect, it is quite and relaxing. A perfect place to cozy up with your loved...
56 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
My mom and I stayed at the Gosby House for her birthday (Thursday, April 5, 2007). We had the Celebration Package which included breakfast in bed, champagne, a teddy bear...etc. (This inn has a nice little habit of outfitting each room with an adoptable teddy bear. Very sweet touch!) The staff also put birthday balloons in the room for my mom, which was nice of them.
We checked in around 4pm, in time for wine and cheese/crackers, cake and cookies, etc. Our hostess, Honey (!), greeted us and gave us the tour. She really helped to make our experience special with her sunny personality and friendly demeanor. (All the Gosby staff we came in contact with were polite, pleasant and helpful.)
Our upstairs room was perfect in every way: clean and cozy with a lot of personality. It was also very peaceful and quiet, even though we understood it to be sold out.
The room was decorated in a very warm, Victorian-era style. It was very comfortable and inviting. There was a jet spa in the bathroom and a spacious double sink area with brass fixtures. We also had a gas fireplace in the room that lit up by a switch on the wall. The furniture in the room looked antique but was sturdy and useful.
The Inn is walking distance from the beach (we had a view from our patio that was nice) and from the quaint old town of Pacific Grove. Shopping and cafes/restaurants all within the same block. Also a nice tea shop/bookstore right around the corner.
We do plan on going back again. It was a wonderful stay and a relaxing experience. We both would recommend the Gosby House Inn to anyone!

My husband and I stayed in room 22 in the carriage house, and we have both come to the mutual conclusion that we will definitely stay there again and we highly recommend it. The staff was very polite and friendly, the breakfast in bed is fantastic,...

Mediocre
When we arrived at check -in the cleaning staff were still vacuming and moving furniture around in the reception area. The individual that I made arrangements with over the phone neglected to tell me that the "special level room" for my...
This was my first visit to an American Bed & Breakfast Inn, and I was completely charmed by the experience. The Gosby Inn has 22 rooms, yet it felt very cozy and we barely heard the other guests. My husband and I arrived in time for wine, cheese ...
36 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
This guesthouse needs an overhaul, I'm afraid. On the positive side, our room was dry and had a clean bathroom. On the negative side, the decoration was poorly maintained and shabby, with worn, frayed and stained carpet. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, with the linen having seen better and fresher days. Some of the staff were curt and were lacking in the personal, interactive touch that we have experienced so wonderfully on the East Coast of the States. Breakfast was very mediocre and it really was unacceptable that on several occasions we could not sit down to eat, or there was no clean cutlery. Parking is a hassle and is not free if you wish to park at the front of the property. The banging and clattering of plates and bins in the restaurant next door was very loud and continued until after 1am. All in all, we were very disappointed with our stay. Pacific Grove is a lovely place to visit, with some great places to eat (like Tina's fantastic vegetarian cafe/bakery), but we would never return to stay in Gosby House.
I think this B&B is way too overpriced. Our room was right by the kitchen, way too noisey and small for the price they charged us!!! When we checked in around 4pm we found out that the soaps and lotions in our tiny room were all half way used, ...

we decided to stay at the gosby house inn during a recent trip down the coast, and overall enjoyed the experience. the stay was slightly dampened by the fact that our room was not entirely clean when we checked in (at 7 p.m.)
