What an incredible find. This is a 20-room hotel with superb service and old-world attention to detail. I wasn't sure it still existed any more.
The small staff is most amazing. They know your name and your family while you are there and are most pleased to see you every day. The hotel is designed after the Goldener Hirsch in Salzburg, Austria yet this one has much better service, well appointed rooms and an excellent restaurant in the Hotel.
It is practically a ski-in/ski-out location and is right next to Deer Valley's high speed chairlift. The ski trails are superb and we could return to lunch everyday at the Hotel. You have to make a reservation for lunch and dinner to guarantee a table since they are so popular.
The rooms are large and very well appointed. They have thick terry cloth robes and slippers to move about the hotel and to reach the hot tubs. They provide an incredible breakfast buffet with fruits, meats, cheeses, granolas, waffles, omelets, baked items, etc that is included in the room. It is a $50 value for a couple every morning.
We felt like we were truly in Europe with polite service, genuine kind interest in us as people and not just some tourist with dollars. The GM greets you nearly every day and is so interested to talking with you. He really makes you feel at home and you just want to keep coming back.
We strongly recommend it and it is very popular with repeat guests so it is hard sometimes to get in to it. I understand that they are so popular with repeat guests that they don't need to advertise in the winter. Now, I understand why.
I believe this may be the last true Hotel in Park City and Deer Valley that is for the knowledgeable and experienced traveler that appreciates service and attention to detail.
Enjoy.
