38 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
I recently made a reservation thru an online travel website for a 2 day stay in Reno, NV
@ the Golden Phoenix Hotel/Casino. The online travel website rates this hotel as a 5 star. I wouldn’t rate this hotel a 1 star. The hotel does not even provide parking for their guests, except for valet parking. When we asked the front desk manager, when we checked in, where can we park, he informed us that we have to find parking in the street if we do not chose to use their valet service. We ended up parking 2 blocks down the street. Then we attempted to check in, they advised us that they could not find our reservations. Front desk mngr. informed us that they a have a newly remodeled room available on the 20th floor.
We accepted. When we entered the room, there were huge water spots on the ceiling, the lights were not working properly, the hairdryer in the bathroom did not work at all, the toilet in the bathroom was extremely loose, the sound on the TV set was adjusting itself(up-down).
The following day, we went to the front desk and advised them of all of the discrepancies we have found in the room and also requested to be moved from that room. Our comments were ignored and our request was denied (to make it brief). Of course we checked out immediately and went our way.
The online travel website also refused to reimburse our $$ for the day we did not stay and they did nothing to follow up on our complaint.
