But the staff is about the most unfriendly of any hotel I have ever stayed at..we had a big hassle trying to upgrade our room. You think they would want the additional revenue,,guess not.
The casino is nice but table mins are high. Better gambling accross the street, But again the rooms are very nice.

Stayed at the GN for the first time Oct 17-21. Have always stayed on the Strip in the past, and wanted to try something different. We all loved this hotel. It is beautiful. We stayed in the South tower on the 18th floor for about $50 per night. The rooms have all been renovated, and are large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Rooms are quiet, we heard no hallway noise or noise from other rooms. Staff is great, pool is incredible, restaurants are excellent, this is a first class hotel for a budget price. If you rent a car which I recommend, you won't care that you aren't right on the strip - in fact, I think you'll be glad. We will stay there again, for sure.

First time at the Nugget... wasn't too bad. We decided to stay "old school" and the area was definitely it. Not as nice as most of the places we've stayed, but it was okay if you have an open mind and don't mind the smoke in the casino.
Avoided the pool... pretty ghetto scene. Didn't dine at the Nugget.. no big loss. One night, I exited onto Freemont St... it was a human freak show. No joke!
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino.
I might recommend it to friends.

Loved the staff, told us great places to eat, even if it wasn't in their hotel. Valet our car and took a taxi, what a mistake I know the Vegas area been a few times, taxi took us completly around the outskirts of the city to go about 12 blocks down the road, I wasnt happy and there was no tip. With taxi service like that rent a car it will be cheaper, staff was excellent with directions. Going back in Nov. I will stay there again.

We stay here with some regularity. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The beds and linens are especially nice, and provide a good night's sleep. Fremont Street is interesting, if you haven't already seen it ad nauseum. Parking is free. It's a very reliable value.

I ONLY RATED A 3 BECAUSE THE AIR CONDITIONING HAD A PROBLEM. AT NIGHT AROUND 2 A.M. THE THING STARTED WHALING UNTIL WE TURNED IT OFF. THEN GOT ABOUT 4 HOURS SLEEP. THE NEXT NIGHT IT SEEMED O K BUT AGAIN AROUND 2 IT DID THE SAME THING. OTHERWISE I WOULDVE COMPLAINED TO MANAGEMENT.(WE ONLY STAYED 2 NIGHTS) I WOULD CONSIDER STAYING HERE AGAIN ONLY BECAUSE OF THE POOL WHICH WAS GREAT. THE FOOD WAS WAY OVER PRICED. DIDNT EAT THERE. YOU COULD FIND BUFFETS FOR AT LEAST 4 LESS ON THE STRIP. IT'S A MUST DO ONCE. BUT I WILL HAVE TO CAREFULLY RECONSIDER ANY FUTURE STAYS.

We were upgraded on Father's Day. What a wonderful gift. A bunch of us were on a motorcycle tour to the Grand Canyon. What a delightful treat to get on our way to yet another wonder of the world.
