I went for the March Madness opening weekend with a dozen life long friends. We have done this for many years. In the past the room dedicated for viewing the games was much better than the set up last year.

If you are looking for a more upscale hotel to stay at downtown, stay at the Golden Nugget hotel. The people are friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and larger than most of the hotels in downtown. The restaurants, since the new owners came, are different. The steakhouse is great. The food at the Grotto restaurant is not as good as the previous Italian restaurant, however, the pizza and the service at the bar in this restaurant are excellent.

This hotel made me feel comfortable: We enjoy staying at the Golden Nugget hotel. The people always makes us feel welcomed, from the driver who meets us at the airport to the registration desk. The slot attendants and the cocktail waitress are friendly and they treat you like friends. Our casino host is excellent and she really goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable and important.

It had a wonderful pool, but one needed to get there early in order to get a lounge chair. I felt that the air conditioning in the hallways and the casino was set too cold. Being handicapped, I had to wait to get a wheelchair which I was told would be available for me. Everything else was fine.

It is a great hotel in downtown Las Vegas. It is in walking distance to other nice places to play. It has excellent service, first rate accommodations, good restaurants and gambling.

It is a great hotel with convenient parking garage. I have stayed there numerous times. The new pool facility is awesome. The new buffet has excellent food. The rooms are clean and comfortable and a great value.

It is always a pleasure to stay there. I like the casino very much and it is always clean.

It is the best hotel in downtown Las Vegas.

It was a bit too smoky for my taste and I did not like having to walk through the casino to get to some of the restaurants. The people were fantastic and when my husband got locked in the bathroom they went above and beyond to help us out.

It was a very nice classy place to stay downtown, which we love to do. We feel well treated and we appreciate the complimentary plans we receive from the Nugget hotel. It is very comfortable.

It was just remodeled and it was very beautiful.

Once we found how to get to the hotel, it was easy. It was fantastic. The rooms were pretty standard, a little less than we had expected, but very nice nonetheless. I loved the shampoo, the conditioner and the lotion in the bathroom. That was a first for us!

This hotel made me feel content: We were not unhappy with anything. We enjoyed our stay.

Overall, it was a very good experience and very reasonable in price for a four star hotel. I highly recommend it.

The Golden Nugget hotel and casino is a great place. It has a perfect location on Freemont Street. It has very good restaurants. The pool is great.

The Golden Nugget hotel is the nicest hotel downtown. The new pool with the shark tank is amazing and it is literally steps to other casinos across the street.

This hotel made me feel extravagent: It was a very upscale room, and lounging out by the pool was very nice.

The hotel has a great location downtown with easy in and out access. Tourists need to consider the downtown location instead of only the Strip. They have a great Italian restaurant on the premises and a terrific new pool with sharks in a tank.

The hotel was centrally located downtown, the buffets were very tasty and the rooms had no cigarette smell.

The location is good, downtown Vegas and a good value. The comfort was good except the bed was a bit soft and the pillows were very lumpy. The food and the drinks were all very tasty. Our only problem was with the food and drink service in the poolside cabana we rented. We were told a server would be by every fifteen minutes and it was almost two hours between visits at one point. However, the food and beverage manager did apologize and offered a round of drinks and made sure we had prompt service from that point on.

The location is good. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff overall is friendly and eager to please. The front desk staff was rude and unhelpful. We have reserved two rooms from the night before for the last several stays to guarantee an early arrival since we take the red eye out of Hawaii. We arrived in Las Vegas around half past six o'clock in the morning. Since we usually travel with my mom and aunt, it is too inconvenient and uncomfortable for them to wait until three o'clock in the afternoon to get into our hotel rooms. On this last visit in March, although we had paid for our rooms from the night before, we were told the rooms were not ready when we arrived. We had to return to the front desk three times before we were able to check in around twelve o'clock. The front desk staff advised me they do not have any such thing as guaranteed early arrival and this is standard at all hotels in Las Vegas. This hotel does not deserve its rating mainly because the staff is not helpful, the management does not respond to complaints in a timely manner and the rooms, although clean, are rundown and in need of renovation.

The location is great. It is not huge so you do not spend all the day walking out of the hotel. The staff is great and willing to help. They have upgraded their pool and it is beautiful but I wish they would do a little more for the rooms.

The location was excellent for the downtown ambiance.
