i stayed at gold coast 4 times in 2007, its a great value. the rooms have been freshened up nicely, plasma tv with music channels is nice. the casino is clean, good selection of slots and tables. the coupon book is great. the bar accepts all the coast property free drink coupons! GC drinks are a bargain! be sure to catch the classic jazz band in the afternoon, puts me in the classic vegas mood. the casino fills up with young crowd, maybe due to the rio & palms nearby. ive overheard that people come over for bargain drinks and the reasonable restaurants and buffet! free shuttle to the strip.

The outside view is wonderful! Large building. The front lobby is a bit overwhelming due to casino traffic. The room was a nice size and the flat screen T.V. was a nice addition. Not a lot of selection of channels; four espanol, two Vegas advertising stations, and a few random channels. I was a bit nervous for the smoke in the casino, but it truly was not that bad. I have asthma and it was tolerable for me. The pool was a bit disappointing. The restaurants were fabulous! The buffet was great, a little overpriced but any dessert imaginable was served! De-lish! The bowling alley was enormous! It was very cheap... the coupon book gave a free game and various other deals. The free souvenir was a deck of cards that had been used at the casino. The casino was very large and offered several different games and excitement! The shuttle to the strip was great. It stopped at at 12:30A.M. It wasn't too bad though. Valet was AWESOME! It was free. I don't think many people knew it was free but I definitely took advantage of it. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone!

37 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for leisure

Small rooms, but LCD TV is a definately a bonus. Beds a little hard. They have a nice pool but Jacuzzi is way too hot. The guests are older so one can typically not expect rowdyness. Food is great as with all the Coast Casinos/Hotels in Vegas.

I do have to complain about the lack of soundproofing and layout of the rooms though. We heard everyone opening and closing their doors in the early morning. There should definitely be a hallway from the doorway to the beds but considering the average price for this hotel, one can't expect too much. The air condition was surprisingly very loud too.

Next time, we will try South Coast, having stayed at the Orleans which is great too. Review to come.

47 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for business

We go every year for convention and they've made some nice improvements.

The new A/C works well, and the door closers solve previous door slamming problem. It's still a little noisy at times but nothing obtrusive. The new LCD TV would look good with HD signal but poor, weak signal NTSC looked fuzzy. There's a poor choice of channels. But everything else was great. The restaurants were all good and the Italian restaurant was superb. I would like to see better insulation but nothing obtrusive. They always have a nice and great staff.

We stay there because of the jazz band that plays in the lounge every weekday afternoon. The casino is ok, but the band is our draw.

I am somewhat likely to return to the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.
I might recommend it to friends.
