Great Place for Friends and Family – Posted May 28, 2008

Excellent
20 year old female with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure

I came to Erie to visit family and they found this lovely Mom and Pop motel to stay at. I was happy to find a clean and wonderful room. The room included a mini frig, a microwave, a mini coffee pot (coffee and supplies included), hair dryer, etc. I was surprised to find these appliances within the quaint room!

The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone looking for a clean and wonderful place to stay!

Excellent

The Glass House Inn is a great place to stay for any age group. I stayed at the Glass House last summer with my family for a weekend in June and loved it. The staff and owners were very friendly and helped us find our way around Erie and down to Presque Isle. The hotel is only 2 miles away from the beaches. The room was standard but very nice and well kept. Fresh linens, comfy beds, and a clean bathroom. The pool was open from 10am-11pm and was so nice and close to our room. Breakfast is served every day and is complimentary! Fresh fruit, bagels, muffins, danishes, coffee, and orange juice were served in the breakfast room that was so comfortable and relaxing. We met with the owners once again and they asked us how our trip was going so far. No complaints whatsoever! We definitely got our moneys worth and plan on coming back this summer. GREAT PLACE!

Dirty! Old! – Posted Oct 15, 2007

Horrible
56 year old female with a luxury budget

I stayed here based on some other reviews saying how wonderful it was. It is terrible!! Old and dilapidated. It is filthy! Very, very dusty. The bottom of the brand new slippers I brought were dark brown after 2 days. I brought the owner down and showed her the dirt and she said it would be taken care of. It was not. Each day brought a different number of linens. One day I would get one towel, nothing else. The next day a full set. Then one washcloth. Toilet paper and tissue were not replaced. I had to go to the office to get them when out. The phone did not work. Dead. I had to go to the office. The breakfast consisted of bagels and a can of strawberry cream cheese or choice of muffin. Period. I am allergic to strawberries. The ice machine is in the office. The office closes at 10 p.m. I needed ice the morning I left and it was 7:30 am and it was not open. The in room coffee was not replaced everyday. As with the linens, some days it would be there, others not. Sheets were not changed even once in 5 nights stay. TV was old and the picture showed it. Mattress had seen better days. Desk chair was threadbare with foam sticking out. Sink and bathtub were not cleaned during stay. Curtains and mini blinds were broken. The only good thing in the room was the recliner chair.

People said they had been coming there for 20 years. Maybe it was nice 20 years ago. Not now. Not worth it at any price! Stay away unless you like living on top of other people's dirt.
