The hotel has a rather large layout. I advise others to make sure to allow extra time to get around from one end of the hotel to the other.

This hotel is beautiful, has great restaurants, and is well-staffed! Every employee I spoke to was helpful and knowledgeable. It had overpriced rooms -- I hate the 'resort fee' tacked on as an extra for water and phone calls.

24 year old male with a luxury budget, traveling for leisure
The Gaylord Texan is located only a few miles from DFW Airport in the quiet city of Grapevine. This hotel is really a resort with an enormous miniature riverwalk such as the one you can see in San Antonio. There are several restaurants within its dome shaped confines that will tickle your tongue. I suggest you take a better part of a day to walk around this wonderland and see all the wonderful foliage. All the hotel rooms are either facing inside towards the riverwalk or facing outwards to the lavish outdoor pool or the grand entrance. Remember to bring a camera with you as your sight seeing will begin just as you walk into the front gates. I really enjoyed my stay here and I know you will too.

30 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business
A huge group of employees from our company stayed at the Gaylord Texan for a conference. Our total stay was 3 nights. The hotel was very easy to get to from the airport. When we arrived I was incredibly impressed with the exterior of the building(s). It was evening and it was just beautiful. There was dim lighting around the perimeter, almost a romantic, relaxing feel.
The lobby and the rooms were equally as impressive. It was very clean, well maintained and full of expensive feeling decor. The staff was incredibly helpful. In fact, I would say they found ways to go above and beyond. My luggage was lost and I needed some basic things (toothbrush, razor, shampoo etc). I called down to the desk to ask if they had these available. Almost immediately they were at my room with the requested items. The conference rooms came in all different sizes, which was great for an event like ours because in some cases we needed a room to accommodate 50 people and in other cases 1,000. Things were very well organized upon arrival.
