34 year old woman with a economy budget, traveling for business

The food prices at this hotel are ridiculous. I'm staying here for a business convention and the negotiated prices on the lunches that myself and my co-workers are required to choose from are outrageous, When was the last time you spent $20 on a small fruit salad, turkey sandwich and a small water?? This hotel is located off the highway with nothing around, so it's obvious they use the fact that they essentially have you trapped to charge whatever they want. In addition, their restaurant choices are extremely limited and are usually overbooked. Basically, they don't have enough dining facilities to handle the number of people a big convention brings in.

Also, given the location, you'd think they would have a well stocked sundries store - wrong! In addition, there were no washclothes or hand towels in my room when I checked in, I didn't get my wake up call this morning, and they forgot to leave the card to pre-order morning room service two days in a row.

As for the convention center, the Internet access is really slow - not a good thing when you're at a trade show trying to demo web-based products. This is the second time my company has had a conference at this hotel and the second time I have not liked being here.

Lastly, the bio-dome thing - gross! It makes pockets of the hotel constantly muggy and they don't have the air conditioning cold enough. I'll take fresh air over some engineered environment any day.

I sincerely hope that we don't come back here for another conference

We had the privilege to stay at the Gaylord from January 2-January 5 2008. Upon arrival we were impressed by the size of the facility and the beautiful decorations in the lobby. Our check in was quick and there was no mention of using Priceline to book the room. Our request of an atrium view was quickly granted. The Gaylord atrium view is preferred compared to a garden view or a view of Walt Disney World which results in looking across I-4 and no balcony. Upon check in we learned that the Palms was hosting a holiday scavenger hunt for the gnomes of Travelocity.com that had been hidden throughout the hotel grounds. Upon arriving in the room we opened the doors to the balcony and were awestruck by the beauty below. I would recommend choosing a room above the third floor to prevent your view being blocked by the lush vegetation. We were quickly off to play bocci ball on the bocci court, followed by some mini golf, and then a game of croquet which are located on property. Everyday as part of the resort fee there are two Dasani waters placed in your fridge and you can go to a neighboring golf course to hit a free bucket of range balls. The Gaylord Palms sets the standard for what a resort should be and is where we will be staying the next time we are in Orlando

This resort is absolutely beautiful! The quality is excellent, the amenities are excellent and the decorum is absolutely lovely! Its a bit pricey, but hey... you got to have some pleasures in life!

I am very likely to return to the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We stayed at Gaylord Palms during a recent business conference there. We took our children with us and had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and well kept. The staff went out of their way to make sure all of our needs were met. Everyone there was polite. The kids and I loved the pool and hot tub. They had warm, fresh towels waiting for us when we got out of the pool. We also loved the live gators, snakes, turtles and fish in the atrium. Our meals were provided at the conference so we did not eat at the restaurants. My youngest stayed for an hour at the La Petite Kids' Station. We didn't need a sitter, but he saw all the activities they offered and wanted to join in the fun. They have an indoor playground, toys, TV, books, art area, games, video games, and karaoke to name a few. The entire time we were there I felt royalty. We definitely enjoyed our time there and I would love to go again.
