This is a wonderful B & B. I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts in my travels and generally you trade modern extras for charm and hospitality. Not so at Gabriel's. I stayed in a fabulous top floor suite that was spacious, light and beautiful. It had a glass enclosed fireplace at the foot of the king size bed, a living room area, a kitchen with granite counters but the bathroom(!) - a two person hot tub and a huge shower with about 10 nozzles including a rainshower head and steam! The towels were thick and soft (don't you hate scratchy hotel towels?). It also had it's own private deck on the third floor.
Okay, so I loved the room, but the home itself was wonderful, offering a terrific breakfast with lots of variety (eggs, waffles, pancakes, oatmeal, cereals, etc.) daily. Cookies, teas and coffee were always available. Extra thoughtful touches like umbrellas (it rained every day of my stay!) A terrific great room with movies, books games etc. The location is dead center in town. We never used the car after arrival in our five day stay. And the Elizabeth's really tend to every last detail and provide warm, gracious hospitality. If you are heading in this direction, this is the place to stay.
female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
My partner of 7 years and I were heading to p-town for our wedding. Thoughts of a beach, a justice of the peace and us danced in our heads. When we arrived so did the weather. What to do? The ladies at Gabriel’s took care of us! We were married in their courtyard between rain storms with twinkle lights all around. They were extremely helpful when it came to our wedding and beyond. It was a lovely experience and we would highly recommend a visit!

In preparation for our upcoming wedding, my partner and I made reservations at Gabriels months in advance. We were very excited that we would be staying at a B&B that had such great reviews and that we had that part of the wedding/honeymoon taken care of. A few days after our wedding, we drove up the Cape and arrived at Gabriel's early in the afternoon. The woman who checked us in was very nice but seemed very sleepy. She walked us up to our penthouse room (the best room they offer. After all, this is our honeymoon!) She opened the door, pointed to the TV, and then said "there's the fireplace, you can turn it on with the thermostat on the wall". Great! We were set. Wrong. We took a nap, freshened up and got ready to go to dinner. When we left the room and tried to lock the door, we found that we couldn't. I tried for 20 minutes to no avail. I even summoned the help of one of the other guests, and they couldn't get it either. After deciding that we weren't going to let the door ruin our short stay in Provincetown, we went out to dinner. When we got back and were ready for bed, we tried to lock the door, and IT WOULD NOT LOCK from the inside either! We literally shoved our suitcases to block the door while we slept. We also tried to turn the fireplace on, to no avail. The next day, I went to the office and asked to speak to one of the "Elizabeth's". I was told she was napping. I explained the situation to the woman at the front desk and she said Elizabeth would help once she WOKE UP FROM HER NAP! I came back 2 hours later and asked to see her again. The woman at the front desk told me that Elizabeth was sick. That was an acceptable answer, so I asked the woman to help me with the door. She couldn't get the door to lock, so she called the maintenance man. After working on the door for an hour, he bolted one side of the french door down and said "don't try to open it". He also fixed the thermostat so we could turn on the fireplace. Great! Things were finally taking a turn for the better. Wrong. We left to go out that night and locked the door. It felt great. We came home and got ready to get into bed and guess what? We could not lock the door from the inside. Back went the suitcases in front of the door. The next morning I went to the office and asked to speak with Elizabeth. She was feeling better so I started to tell her the myriad of issues we had. She asked what I wanted her to do. I asked her if she would take care of one of the nights that we stayed. She said absolutely not, that Provincetown was very safe and that we were not in danger by not locking the door- but that she would give us $100 off of our bill. I asked her to try to lock our door, so we walked to the room. She COULD NOT get the door locked from the inside either, and also informed us that the fireplace shouldn't have been turned on by the maintenance man because they never ran the fireplaces this time of year. At this point, I was furious and we checked out shortly after. I cannot express my disappointment and hurt over the lack of care that Elizabeth showed us. This was our honeymoon and the lack of response and care was outrageous. As a business owner she should know better than to treat a guest this way, but as a human she should know not to treat another person with such a lack of respect. It is never okay to talk down to or argue with a customer.

Traveling with my dog, these accomodations were wonderful. Not only do they allow pets, they cater to them. I often travel to Provincetown, and have stayed at various inns, but I will only return to Gabriel's now that I have stayed here. I was trea
