The Fun Royale Beach Resort is an all inclusive resort located near the beach at Puerto Plata, adjacent to its sister property, the Fun Tropicale Beach Resort. Guests have access to all the restaurants and facilities at the neighboring Fun Tropicale, so they enjoy two all inclusive resorts for the price of one. The resorts are only a short walk from the beach (shuttle service is available) and adjacent to an 18 hole Robert Trent Jones golf course. Besides a variety of restaurants and wonderful accommodations, the resort offers a variety of water sports, separate activities programs for adults and children, nightly entertainment as well as water sports, and an assortment of land activities. The superior quality guest rooms have a view of the garden or the swimming pool. They are equipped a nice selection of amenities, including individual climate control. When it comes to dining, guests can choose from five different onsite restaurants and snack outlets, in addition to six outlets for beverages that range from a beach bar to a real disco. When it comes time for recreation, guests can enjoy windsurfing, kayaking, snorkeling and banana boat rides. The resort has tennis facilities, bicycles, miniature golf and a supervised kids' playground, among other things. everything was perfect. All of the staff was so much fun. They were there to help you with anything. The tours were amazing. Then you could just sit on the beach and enjoy the calm ocean breeze. Beautiful place to visit.

OK.
1. Our room was crap. Infested with ants and went home with a sort of skin rash from beds. Fridge was rarely restocked, sheets rarely changed, bathroom toilet paper and towels never replaced. We had to find the linen closets to get our own stuff. Poor.
2. Food was amazing. The a la carte dinners were like nothing else. Very high class food. Waiters were excellent and very accommodating.
3. Front desk is horrible at delegating duties. You have to call 5 times to get anything done.
4. Daytime bar staff are very slimy. Expect them to try to be all over you GF or wife. Night time Bar staff are very cool.
5. Closest beach is not worth going to. It sucks. Take the trip into Sosua and use that public beach it is very nice.
6. Not a resort to go to if you want to relax or get refreshed. Music is very loud all the time. You can hear it in you rooms loud and clear from 9 - 9. I guess maybe we were supposed to be outside in the sun, but being hungover will do that to you.
7. Finally, for all the crap we had to deal with, we probably lost a good 2 days off of our stay trying to get service. And we can speak Spanish.

Although the sun shone and on the exterior the complex looked clean and quite appealing on the fourth day of my holiday my friend developed a serious case of food poisoning with left him with crippling abdomen pain, projectile vomiting and a serious case of diarrhea. He spent 2 days in bed recovering.
We were due to return home on the Friday, we boarded our flight but only an hour into i began to feel poorly. My symptoms progressed and with-in half an hour i too had symptoms identical to that of my friend earlier in the week. Unfortunately i was on a plane and unable to rehydrate myself. The food and drink at this complex resulted in me rushed to hospital from Gatwick airport in London and treated for food poisoning with various injections and drips. The perfect break I'd looked so forward to!

I disliked the food, as there was the same food every day tochoose from. i also didnt like all the spiders, gnats and mosquitos. but apart from that it was brill.
