52 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The campus has been restored along with the neighboring West Baden Dome and is an interesting tour of architecture, but this was the most overpriced place I have ever been. 2 meals and a room for one night and my wife and I had spent $500 which would not be shocking except it was an average room and average food. Might have some potential for golfers with future golf courses being developed, but for the money there are dozens of better options.

It is a beautifully restored older resort hotel. It has lovely high ceiling rooms with very comfortable beds.

This hotel made me feel relaxed: It is a hotel off the beaten path, steeped in history. It has a quiet small town location.

I am very likely to return to the French Lick Resort and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

The hotel is a beautiful hotel, however they need to work on service drastically.

Check-in is 4:00 and it was 5:50 before our room was cleaned and ready. They gave us complimentary dinner in the Grand Colonnade Buffet and the hostess/cashier argued with us about a complimentary meal. It was embarrassing. Finally, the front desk was called, hey came down and worked things out. The food left something to be desired. Most of it was cold when you sat down to eat. The prime rib looked wonderful, but had a large string of fat and gristle running through it. It was hard to cut and you couldn't chew it. Breakfast was about the same there the next morning. They ran out of biscuits, had to wait in line 5-6 minutes to toast a piece of bread, sausage and bacon were cool (temperature).

Our room was not cleaned the next day. I had to call at 4:30 pm and ask if they were going to do it. The next day the girl showed up and asked if we needed it cleaned again. I said soap, clean towels, and coffee would be nice. She then asked if we really needed the sheets changed. She cleaned, but we didn't get soap or coffee. I had to take some off one of the carts that were always just sitting in the halls. We never got this kind of service at any other hotel we have stayed in. Our friends got a smoking room with no ashtray. They called and it only took about 2 1/2 hours to get one.

We will not return.

We loved the architecture, interior layout and scheme of the hotel room and historic preservation of the building overall. We give it 4 stars for the overall experience.

We hated the long walk to the casino, the buffet lacked in variety and was cold.

The casino table workers were the worst by far in calculating wins, which resulted in a loss for the patron. Watch your bets and be prepared to calculate your winnings or you’re cheated time and time again.

It’s anextremely small casino gaming floor in comparison to the amount of rooms available for guests, creating a crowded atmosphere. The outdoor hot tub was a joke! After finding assistance to slide the stuck door open to the outdoor patio, it was no more than a hole in the concrete, and the power button, was way over on the side of the building and not labeled, so again assistance was needed, I ad walk to the hotel lobby while in swimwear and dripping wet! What a sight.

The employees lacked in knowledge and were found loitering the grounds in groups, talking among themselves. But indeed, they had a hand out for that ever sought after gratuity!

It’s not worth the 2.5 hour drive, or the pricey room rate. We would rather take a tour of the building and be done with it, and save our money for Vegas!

This is a beautiful, historic hotel with lots of activities and charm. The rooms are very nice and the glass dome pool was amazing! It is a very nice, relaxing place. I was there for business, but I plan to schedule a vacation for my family there.

I am very likely to return to the French Lick Resort and Casino.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
