cozy, convenient stay for north shore

34 year old man with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
We stayed at the Franciscan during a ski trip in March 07. The Franciscan is a nice cozy little lodge right on the main road, in Tahoe Vista. Our room was quaintly-decorated with various Tahoe memorabilia. The bed was very comfy. The room was nice and warm when we arrived on a cold night after midnight. The location proved convenient, about a 15 minute drive from the slopes at Northstar. There are also multiple nice restaurants right there on the main road near the lodge, some within walking distance, including a good steakhouse. We will definitely stay there again.
