Remember this telling sign - There are no pictures of the rooms on their web page. This resort is showing its age. The rooms are a giant step back into the 1950's.
Room - was very small with two double beds. Bathroom was extremely small and the sink was in another combination closet/sink room.
Cleanliness - At first glance they seem clean, but the longer you look, the more things stand out. They are numerous stains on the carpet. We went out on the balcony and there were beer cans from the prior patron. The bathroom floor needed to be mopped.
Maintenance - This was probably the biggest shortcoming. Sink did not drain well. Tub was clogged with hair and soup scum (It took me about 30 minutes clean out), smoke detector was missing its battery, peeling wall paper.
Security - non-existent - no deadbolts, simple knob locks. No sprinklers systems. Best I could tell they never locked the entrances.
HVAC - Ran the entire time we were there, but never cooled below 80's.
Common Grounds - Pretty run down. Not enough parking. The beach they refer to on their web page is a public beach.
Overall - We were booked for 2 nights, but decided to check out after one. There are better places in Okoboji.
