My wife and I drive to Vegas twice a year. Since the closing of the Lady Luck, the 4 Queens has been our "home" and it has been a good selection. For us, the room is a place to sleep or rest (not really interested in pools, gyms, etc.). With this in mind, our room has always been clean and comfortable. The bathroom has always been spotless.
The hotel staff has always been very most helpful and pleasant to work with. They have provided the "little extras" that make the stay pleasant as if to say "come back soon". The parking/valet service is in a class of it own-nothing but good to say about this.
The Magnolia Room is outstanding both so far as food and service goes. Prices are average. The breakfast cafe has great food and fair service but the prices are very, very good.
The only times I have used the bars, the service is good and the banter of the bartenders is upbeat.
The casino offers good choices. The only two negative comments about it is the lack of $5.00 blackjack tables at night and the lack of a power room.
The location meets our desires. We want to stay downtown instead of the strip--a bit more laid back and more congenial, especially geared to an older crowd. Just walk out the front door and you are in the middle of the Fremont Experience to include the lightshows and all the kiosks one would want.
Both my wife and I feel very safe and secure walking the street even late at night.
While we could afford more upscale accommodations, I see no reason to. It is all within the 4 Queens or close by. I whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone who wants reasonably priced and a more laid back Vegas trip.
We have already booked our stay at the 4 Queens for our next journey out west.
