Four Points by Sheraton New York Hotel

We stayed with a large group for a recent weekend. The staff was friendly and courteous, but the accommodations need more work! Although the hotel was advertised as being renovated, it left much to be desired. Attempts were made to repair the furniture, but the repairs were amateurish. Floors in rooms looked nice, but were sticky and in need of a good cleaning. Bedding was not pristine white, but stained and discolored. (perhaps due to hard water, which again can be corrected.) The lobby was attractive, but again, furniture dirty and in need of replacement, not repair. Piles of some kind of dead bugs were in lobby near curtains. Restaurant looked dingy and in need of a good scrubbing. My guess....get a professional deep cleaning to the whole place and start replacing nasty looking stuff!

I stayed at this hotel two nights in June when the outside temperature was near 90 degrees. The hotel room was extremely uncomfortable as the window unit air conditioner did not cool the room. The unit is located at floor level and the blower would only run at low speed which cooled the air on the floor by the bed. Not bad if you sleep on the floor by the air conditioner! I mentioned this to the staff at least 4 times and they made numerous attempts to fix the problem but the room never did cool off properly. I had to ask for a fan in order to make the room tolerable and on my second night they finally supplied me with a fan. Shouldn't have to put up with this at a hotel that runs nearly $300 a night (with taxes). The staff kept telling us "we are working on it" but it never was resolved. They took $50 off the bill but I definintely would not stay at this hotel again.

It has a friendly staff, a good location, and a reasonable price.

This hotel made me feel respected: They had an attentive staff including the front desk, house cleaning, and room service.

It was a little overpriced, but that's New York.
