This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The only thing that the hotel has to its benefit, is the location, which is in front of the museum of civilization.
I had booked two rooms for my trip, for a group of friends and I. We...

My husband and I and our two kids just came back from a stay here this past weekend. When we arrived the staff was extremely pleasant. The lady that helped me was so sweet and helpful and when I asked for a room with a view she did her best to make it happen. We ended up getting a room on one of the VIP floors and the view was very nice. We could see the Ottawa river, the Museum of Civilization and part of the Parliament.
The hotel is situated directly across from the Museum of Civilization, which was very helpful since we took the kids there the first night. It is a minute away from the bridge by car, but is close enough that in the summer you could walk to Ottawa.
Parking was reasonable at $10/night. We paid $105/nt on a "family value" pkg. promo which gave us free breakfast for two kids with each paying adult. We never ended up trying the restaurant since there were so many amazing places to eat in Ottawa, but the buffet seemed reasonably priced at $12.50 and kids eat free.
The room was clean and a decent size. We didn't spend that much time in it so it didn't bother me, but I know some people would feel a bit cramped. The bathroom was also clean, and since we were on a VIP floor we had bathrobes, free bottled water replenished daily, and free daily newspaper.
Since the hotel is in Quebec keep in mind that French is the first language spoken, but the staff was very pleasant and I never felt discriminated for speaking English. No communication barrier at all!
I would definitely consider staying here again at this price. We enjoyed the hotel and Ottawa. I definitely recommend 3 places to eat for anyone going to Ottawa--Shawarma Palace on Rideau (huge portions, one shawarma plate could have easily fed all of us), The Works on Bank St. (the best burgers ever!! about 75 to choose from and EXCELLENT onion rings!!) and for the best poutine I've ever had go to The Elgin St. Diner on Elgin (fresh cut fries, dark gravy and yummy curds...yumm!). I think I'm craving already! We will definitely be back!!

Iwas not at all impressed with this hotel....especially considering the price! When we arrived we were given a very tiny room in this alcove type thing that required you to go through one main door and then there were 2 doors inside...one for each room. Besides this which didn't impress me as we had booked at least 6 months in advance the internet connection was ripped out of the wall (my boyfriend need this for work and I had confirmed prior to our stay that there was a connection). I went to make a pot of coffee and the water leaked out fromt he back of the coffee maker all over the place and all over my suitcase, then I went to wash my face and the plug in the sink was stuck in, so the sik was filled with water (to the brim) and you couldn't empty it....therefore you couldn't wash your hands or anything or the sink would overflow. My bf went down to complain about these issues as I had a migraine by this time and then he went to check on my daughter and her friend who were down at the pool. Meanwhile I was going to the bathroom (with the door open...I was alone!) and I heard a knock at the door and said, "just a minute". When I came out of my room a male hotel staff member was standing in my room. There is NO excuse for that! Never will I ever stay here again.

I am from Houston, TX. I am very surprised for the high quality service and facility of the hotel. The room is very nice, very soft and comfortable bed, very friendly service staffs. I stayed at Capital Hill Hotel Ottawa for 2 nights before I came here, except the staffs at Capital Hill Hotel were pleasant, the room and facility just can't compare to this Four Point Sheraton. The price is about $10 different, but the value is just incomparable. Four Point Sheraton Gatineau-Ottawa is more like a 3.5 to 4 star facility, and Capital Hill is more like a 2.5 to 3 star. Unless you really have to stay in Ottawa downtown, otherwise you can stay at this nice hotel and then taxi to Ottawa downtown from the Four Point for 5 minutes, only about $7, beautiful drive while crossing the bridge from Quebec side to Ottawa side. The distance to Capital Hill building is about the same from the Capital Hill Hotel downtown. A nice museum is right across street from the Four Point. The down stairs restaurant has very nice breakfast buffet and a very good dinner menu. Again, the service is real good here. I called the front desk and ask how to get the room warmer (in May), they sent a service staff up right away to show me how to adjust the heating unit. This is certainly a very nice surprise stay for me. I guess the Starwood management and Sheraton chain has been doing great with these kind of hotels, with a very reasonable price (about $120), quite new/renovated facility, and good services. Definitely a good deal.
We have stayed here several times in the past, it has become our only place to stay in the Ottawa area. As tourists we find the location excellent. Our past stay in June was outstanding, we left a comment card and the manger actually called us at...
Front desk was very helpful. Had a corner room which was a nice size. Parking garage appeared to be under construction and had some tight corners. Close to downtown Ottawa. Would likely stay there again.

Horrible
This is the worst hotel I ever stayed in. The food was awful, the room was dirty and stunk like a garbage dump. Never had any response from the hotel or any from Sheraton or Starwood regarding my complaints. I have never ever stayed at any Sheraton ...

Overall, the rooms and public areas were clean, most of the staff was friendly; however, we did encounter a few staff members that seemed rather rude or abrupt. The staff in the bar/lounge is the best group of people to speak to regarding local...
