male with a economy budget

the rooms were very clean and tidy, but they needed updated somewhat. The breakfast was wonderful, and the lobby area was beautiful. I liked all the dark wood. The staff was wonderful. The little redhead went out of her way to make sure our stay was pleasent. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name, but she knows who she is. I would most definately come back to this motel.

Thank you all at the flathead lake inn for a pleasant stay in Polson Montana.

with a budget, traveling for business

10/15/08

I have traveled to Polson for business for many, many years. I stayed at this motel long before it turned into the Flathead Lake Inn. It use to be the Super 8, and the only reason I decided to stay there again after they changed their name was because the same management and staff was running the place, so I knew it still had to be a good place to stay. I'm not a man that likes change, so it was good to know that the same friendly faces would be there to say good morning to me before I left for work. Unfortunately, my last stay I was sad to be informed that the WHOLE staff had been replaced. Not ONE of the same people were there. All those friendly faces were replaced with robot like people that won't even crack a smile. The check in process took forever, I don't think they had a clue what they were doing. I figure if I'm going to stand there for an HOUR while you screw up everything, you might as well smile at me. Why on earth would any business man/woman give up such quality staff and replace them with drones?

The prices for a room sky rocketed. It use to be an affordable place to stay, but now they charge an outrageous amount just to stay in an out dated little room. I recommend anyone driving by looking for a place to stay, to keep on driving, and anyone surfing the net for a motel, keep on lookin'!

58 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

The gentleman that checked me after hours was rude. I didn't think showing up at midnight would be an imposition, since I had been told earlier when I called that it would be fine. There was a young woman there that was a sweetheart to my wife and myself. She was the only bright spot in our stay. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The rooms were cleaner than some other places I've stayed at on my current trip, but not as clean as I would have expected for the price. I thought the motel was priced rather high for the offerings. Most of the staff seemed to be rather rude and unfriendly to my wife and myself (besides the aforementioned young woman. I wish I knew her name. She was a lovely young woman.) I currently would not recommend this motel to anyone passing through the lovely town of Polson.

I am not likely to return to the Flathead Lake Inn.
I would not recommend it to friends.

39 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for business

Nobody likes to be on a long road trip and stop in a motel to get a room only to be treated like some kind of criminal. That's how I was treated at this motel. There should be some kind of customer service test people have to take before they can work in that kind of business, these people would have failed miserably. I later found out that it was the managers,( i'm guessing they were husband and wife) that were the ones that I got the bad treatment from. I will add that the good reviews below me are a bit suspicious, because her name was Laura. Enough of that, I am only here to tell of my experience.

Aside from the bad treatment I got from the people running this motel, everything else seemed to go well once I got to my room. I was much too tired to examine the room, so from what I could tell, the room was clean. I woke up the next morning to find I didn't have any towels. I chalked it up to an honest mistake, but when I went to get some, the guy treated me like I was trying to get more to steal or something.

The breakfast was fairly good. The fruit was obviously old, so I didn't touch them, and most everything else was rock hard. I was apparently having left overs for breakfast. I had a waffle that was good, and some coffee. I was afraid to touch anything else.

I would never stay there again.

Hope this helps all you travelers!
