30 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

Iam not a picky person when it comes to hotels, but we have all seen the Vegas movies and have a certain idea of quality when it comes to spending abot $200 a night for a hotel room. Well, the Flamingo in Vegas is the equivilant of a bad Motel 6. Checkin was good, butmy wife and I were shocked to enter our room which resembled a 1980s Dallas episode. Furniture was severely banged up and scratched as well as bleach stains and ground in dirt on the chairs. The TV was an older model as well. The bathroom tub drain was busted and the exhaust fan and light were extremenly loud. Finally, I walked in to find a sopping wet pillowcase sitting on the nightstand. The bed sheets had holes in them as well. We tried to upgrade to a GO room but all were booked. I have no issue with those upgraded rooms which are only about $40 more a night. My issue is that we are being charged $200 a night for a dump of a room. Oh by the way, we were promised a view of the strip or pool. Instead we got a view of the air conditoner and back of the flamingo hotel sign. Tried to upgrade rooms but they are sold out. My wife is looking up other hotels in the area as I write this. For as much cash as this hotel and casino takes in, they can afford to make upgrades sooner. Take my advice and stay away from the Flamingo!

I am not likely to return to the Flamingo Las Vegas.
I would not recommend it to friends.

While the room was clean and adequately sized (like most standard rooms) there was no coffee pot, the room was a ten minute walk (seemed like) from the elevator unless I wanted to use the elevator into the smokey casino, no water fountains anywhere (bottled water $3.99), no way to take a bath only a shower, and $1.00 phone calls (1-800 numbers)!. The only reason to stay here is price and location. Next time I will check out the Go Rooms!

I upgraded my room for 4 nights because I wanted to be closer to the elevator. The room I received had black mold in the bathroom, absolutely no towels, ( had to call)missing electrical plate, dated tv, no coffee maker (not even an option I was told.) You basically pay for the location- that's it.

We have stayed at the Flamingo over ten times and will continue to do so. We were there this past Feb. and going back at the end of this month. The staff has always been friendly, and the rooms clean. We always ask for a room overlooking the Garden. I believe the Flamingo has one of the best gardens and a super pool area. For my money, you can't go wrong with this hotel.

When we checked in, we were offered the new Go room as an upgrade. The Agent made the room sound really nice but for another 50 bucks a night, I was skeptical. We settled on the room we booked, but after seeing how old and worn out the room was, I went right back to the front desk and upgraded. Not only did the Agent accomodate us by giving us a spectacular view of the Belligio water show, but was more than happy to room change us into the upgraded room. When we got to the new room, all I can say is WOW.

We had a big Plasma TV, surround sound, wireless internet and the most WONDERFUL pillow top mattress I've ever slept on. By the second night I went back to the front desk and rewarded the agent with a nice tip for the great recomendation and great customer service. We'll be going there again and always asking for a Go room.

I just stayed at the Flamingo and must say that the Go rooms rival the rooms at the Venetian, where I stayed last year. I booked mine on line and was surprised to find out that if I had waited and asked to upgrade at check in, I might have actually paid less for the upgrade fee than I did on line. The front desk person told me that during low occupancy periods, sometimes they actually reduce the upgrade fee so to always wait and ask at check in. Love the location and the pool area is beautiful. Found the restaurants to be very good and the staff all over the hotel was outstanding. We loved our stay and even won money. We'll be returning soon!

When will travelers learn the game? Vegas is a tipping town...always has been, always will be....Want a better seat at the show...a better seat in the restaurant...a bottomless drink while gambling...a super clean room everyday..a nicer room with a view at check in....SLIDE A TIP AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU WANT!!! You may say I paid for my trip and I shouldn't have to pay extra. Yes, you paid for the basics.....but if you have special demands show a little cash. I have been staying at the Flamingo for years. It's an older property but the pools are the best on the strip, the location is the absolute best and the employees are always aiming to please. This is a three star hotel and the prices reflect that. I always "take care" of the employees at check in and I stay in a nicer room.

47 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

We won a weekend trip to Las Vegas and before I start, I probably shouldn't be complaing about a free room, BUT, had I known it would be as bad as it was, I would have paid to stay somewhere more pleasant. When I found out we were staying at the Flamingo I visited their website and knowing that it was an older hotel, I was happy to see the rooms looked very nice. From the moment we got there, the misery started.

1. We had a 50 minute wait in line to check in to our room.

2. The front desk people told us that only one night was paid for, even though several hours earlier the Flamingo reservation people told us everything was taken care of. The front desk staff was very unsympathetic and unhelpful and basically told us we needed to take care of this problem ourselves.

3. When we got to our room (8th floor), it was nothing like the pictures on the website. It was dingy and dated, dirty carpet. There was actually mold in the shower and the bathroom vanity had cracked and peeling paint. The people that paid for our room were paying $170 a night and I have stayed in Comfort Inns a third of the price that were opulent compared to this. The sheets were paper thin and not even tucked into the bed.

4. We made some phone calls and the Flamingo reservation staff again assured us that both nights were paid for. When we went to the front desk again, they again said they didn't have any record of this.

5. This whole scenario repeated and finally the 4th time, I called reservations on my cell phone and handed it to the manager and told her to communicated with her own reservations staff and it was finally straightened out. I can't believe that they were so unhelpful that they would not even call their own reservations departement.

6. Never once were we told that they were sorry.

Thankfully, we were only in the room for a few hours sleep each night, but this is the most horrendous hotel experience I have ever had. We don't go to Vegas often, but in the past have stayed at Luxor and Treasure Island and were very happy with our rooms.

The only positive thing that I can say for this place is that the location is great. It is very centrally located. If you have to stay here, go for the few upgraded GO rooms (I think 15th floor and up...most of the hotel is nonrefurbished). We didn't spend a dime in any of their restaurants or casino because we were so upset with how we were treated.

I've stayed there many times and find the rooms to be okay. The deluxe rooms are older and have more wear and tear on them. Cough up a little more money for a GO room, well worth it. The are new and high-tech. Don't believe in the free upgrade myth. Discretely TIP your check in agent and you'll get a better room, better view, etc. This is common practice in Vegas. ( it's a tipping town)

I've spent many nights in a mini suite for a 20.00 tip. You may not get a GO room, but you'll get a better than average room. The staff is great, I'm there for business a lot. The pool is the best in Las Vegas, can't beat the location either. P.S. always be nice to the person checking you in, remember they are picking out your room!

If you don't get a "Go Room" don't go at all. The room they gave us had years old dried food caked into the carpeting, cracked tiles in the shower, the oldest shower head imaginable, peeling wall paper, a broken smoke detector hanging from the ceiling, a crappy old worn out bed, 10 year old tv, and a smell that would make your grandmothers undies smell like a flower conservatory.

When we complained about the room, they assured us that we would be taken care of with an upgrade to a "Go Room" free of charge. However, it was a total lie. The next morning they tried to charge us for the upgrade, were obnoxiously rude at the service desk, and informed us that the manager who had promised us the upgrade was wrong for doing so, and would be punished. Overall, this place should be torn down and the management should go back to hospitality school. If you're looking for a decent hotel in Vegas, look elsewhere. The Flamingo is a joke.

This place is dismal!

#1- I arrived early and wanted to check my bag. They told me to go back outside and check it.

#2- I arrived at about 10am, they absolutely would not let me check in until after 4pm!

#3- Registration clerks were dry and inhospitable.

You can stay at a better place in Las Vegas than here!

I am not likely to return to the Flamingo Las Vegas.

We usually stay at the Flamingo hotel because it is centrally located on the Strip. We can walk to a lot of the casinos in the area without having to take transportation. Also if you have a slot player card you can get great room rates at the Flamingo hotel. We have stayed many times at this hotel and we have never been disappointed.

We stayed in the GO room which was quite retro and funky with the wild colors. The bed was wonderful and the TV in the bathroom was divine. The walls were thin and we could join in on the conversation in the next room without yelling. The lights at the bedside were funky and fun looking but did not work even after calls to housekeeping and maintenance. The door was missing the safety lock and the hallway noise made it feel that people were coming into the room at all hours. I did not know if the door was also thin or if this was another side effect of the thin walls.

This hotel made me feel hip: The pool is lovely and very posh.

I am not likely to return to the Flamingo Las Vegas.
I would not recommend it to friends.
