29 year old woman with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure

If you don't get a "Go Room" don't go at all. The room they gave us had years old dried food caked into the carpeting, cracked tiles in the shower, the oldest shower head imaginable, peeling wall paper, a broken smoke detector hanging from the ceiling, a crappy old worn out bed, 10 year old tv, and a smell that would make your grandmothers undies smell like a flower conservatory.

When we complained about the room, they assured us that we would be taken care of with an upgrade to a "Go Room" free of charge. However, it was a total lie. The next morning they tried to charge us for the upgrade, were obnoxiously rude at the service desk, and informed us that the manager who had promised us the upgrade was wrong for doing so, and would be punished. Overall, this place should be torn down and the management should go back to hospitality school. If you're looking for a decent hotel in Vegas, look elsewhere. The Flamingo is a joke.

32 year old woman with a moderate budget

I planned a 40th birthday party for my husband (who has never been) in Vegas with 13 of our closest friends who were all staying at the Flamingo. Upon making the reservations we were all to be placed on the same floor however; when our friends arrived they had trouble getting the rooms that we were originally told we were going to have. (Note: we called the hotel on several occasions prior to our arrival to ensure)

We arrived at the Flamingo around 10pm to check in on Wednesday, June 25th. The reservation desk told us that our room wasn't clean and it is a 30 minute wait. We thought that was strange as check-in is at 3pm in which we were well past that time. In addition, several members in our party had complications when checking into the hotel as well. We checked in and upon walking into the room it had a very strong 'cleaning' smell. As it was just cleaned we thought it would lighten up so we unpacked and left the room to check the hotel out. Upon arriving back in our room about 2:30am....the room was filled with a very harsh chemical smell with an aroma of vomit. My husband walks over the side of the bed in his bare feet only to step in the large wet spot where the vomit was cleaned up! The chemical smell is so bad that our friend staying in the room with us gets an allergic reaction in his eye which puffs up and gets all red. You could not breath in the room so we all went out into the hallway.

I proceed down to the reservation desk to inform them as we can not sleep in this room. After speaking with the reservation desk and a manager, they were aware that they knowingly put us in a room that should have not been used for at least a couple days. They offered us another room in which we had to move rooms at 3:30am! At no time, did the manager offer to comp our night but telling me that he was giving us this amazing room..yeah..not so amazing but at least it didn't smell like vomit.

As far as the rooms they are not what they appear to be on the website and the customer service prior to our arrival and upon arrival was very dissatisfying.

We did rent a cabana at the 21 and over pool on a Friday. We had a great time and the service was wonderful. The pool area of the hotel is awesome and the employees in the pools, bars and other areas are very friendly and kind.

Shall we travel back to Vegas in the future; we will not stay at the Flamingo.

We stayed 5 nights last week in a Go Luxury w/Strip View room. Loved it. Great view of the Bellagio fountains & Caesar's, the furnishings were new, bed was very comfortable, mini-fridge & safe in room, even a plasma built in the bathroom mirror. Check in was lengthy but staff was very friendly and tried to keep things moving along. The only drawback was the live band which had set up at front of Caesar's w/speakers facing directly toward the Flamingo. We were on the 21st floor & the band played all night up to around 7am....ouch! Pool is excellent, albeit crowded. All in all, a great value & we would definitely stay again.

Iam not a picky person when it comes to hotels, but we have all seen the Vegas movies and have a certain idea of quality when it comes to spending abot $200 a night for a hotel room. Well, the Flamingo in Vegas is the equivilant of a bad Motel 6. Checkin was good, butmy wife and I were shocked to enter our room which resembled a 1980s Dallas episode. Furniture was severely banged up and scratched as well as bleach stains and ground in dirt on the chairs. The TV was an older model as well. The bathroom tub drain was busted and the exhaust fan and light were extremenly loud. Finally, I walked in to find a sopping wet pillowcase sitting on the nightstand. The bed sheets had holes in them as well. We tried to upgrade to a GO room but all were booked. I have no issue with those upgraded rooms which are only about $40 more a night. My issue is that we are being charged $200 a night for a dump of a room. Oh by the way, we were promised a view of the strip or pool. Instead we got a view of the air conditoner and back of the flamingo hotel sign. Tried to upgrade rooms but they are sold out. My wife is looking up other hotels in the area as I write this. For as much cash as this hotel and casino takes in, they can afford to make upgrades sooner. Take my advice and stay away from the Flamingo!

I am not likely to return to the Flamingo Las Vegas.
I would not recommend it to friends.

While the room was clean and adequately sized (like most standard rooms) there was no coffee pot, the room was a ten minute walk (seemed like) from the elevator unless I wanted to use the elevator into the smokey casino, no water fountains anywhere (bottled water $3.99), no way to take a bath only a shower, and $1.00 phone calls (1-800 numbers)!. The only reason to stay here is price and location. Next time I will check out the Go Rooms!
