Flamingo Conference Resort and Spa Resort - Page 1

Hi There!

We booked a vacation for 6 of us at Flamingo (through TravelZoo - which does not have a review system) thinking it was a resort - based on their website and photos on it. The place is nothing like the photos - its a fancy name for a motel 6, thats all. Its right next to an IHop and Longs - check google maps arial view to see proximity.... We had 2 rooms and both had problems like beds squeaking... both had views of different sides of a shopping complex... its nowhere close to a resort - so stay far away from this place if you want to go to a resort. We even cut our vacation by a day and wasted the $120 on each room as we could not have canceled it so late. Any ways - lesson learned.

The Flamingo hotel is pretty tacky. It was annoying to find the workout facilities were an additional fee, but it is possible to run in the neighborhood for free. Also, the walls were thin and our neighbors were loud and smoky but the location was great for heading up to wine country and we appreciated the hot tub.

the room was great, every time they were clean. stayed here twice. the pool is big and the hot tub is good. the rooms surrond the pool. never ate at the restuarant here. the rooms are spred out but this place is worth it. we'll defenetly come back to the Flamingo.

Stayed here in mid May 2007. We played golf the next day at Windsor Golf Course in Windsor. Less expensive and presumptious than Fountaingrove.

Bunch of construction going on around the property eliminating some parking right by the rear units of the hotel. We were not warned of this upon check in. Ambiance is 1950's because it was built then.

The pool area is great; we enjoyed watching little kids come in the afternoon for swimming lessons, and either high school or college kids come in for leisure.

Walls are pretty thin; sounds from the room next door in the middle of the night were very audible.

Plus: located blocks away Cattleman's Restaurant, a few minutes from Black Bear Restaurant.

I stay at this hotel once a year when I travel down South on business, it's an older hotel, but service has always been great and the room's are nice, it's easy in and out and the price is fair.
