Rating: Very turned on.

The Hotel Figueroa is the one of the most unique hotel in the downtown area. Truly, it is as if one has stepped out of the city streets of Los Angeles into a grand hotel in Morocco. Huge lanterns of all shapes and sizes hang from high ceilings, tapestries along the walls fill the space with color and texture, skylights flood the lobby with natural light, warm amber is soothing and comforting, the accents of turquoise and palm trees are grounding.

The suites and rooms in the Hotel Figueroa are a mystical experience. Colorful, romantic, exotic playgrounds of another part of the world, where one sits down on the pillows to meditate, relish in the colors, find an inner peace in the mad havoc of downtown L.A. It is almost as if a genie had popped out of a bottle and placed you in his choice of a serene getaway. Hotel Figueroa is a place Lawrence of Arabia may have visited in his many travels around the world. The pool and Jacuzzi shimmer like a desert oasis surrounded by palm trees and umbrellas. I do wish the cafe served authentic food, yet it is a better choice to go and dine out, sadly as the atmosphere is keen.

I am very likely to return to the Figueroa Hotel.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

50 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for business

The ride in the elevator in Figueroa is very slow. This is an old building and it shows in the rooms. The lobby however, is amazing with Mediterranean design. The gardens and pool are breathtaking and peaceful to sit there and meditate. The beds are small and creaky. The staff is standoffish. This hotel is right downtown so it is a good value if you want unique.

I am not likely to return to the Figueroa Hotel.
I might recommend it to friends.
