Fernwood Hotel and Resort Resort - Page 1

My husband, two girls, and myself stayed at Fernwood for a long weekend in early June. I was really impressed with the hotel staff and overall we had a wonderful stay. We spent the weekend in one of their villas and it truly felt like we had our own little aparment. They seemed to be new and I don't think any of us felt like we were cramped at all. We decided to stay here because the website made it sound like they had a lot of activities for everyone and I was very pleased to find that all of us were able to do something we really enjoyed. My husband went golfing, the girls did some hikes, and I got to go shopping at a nearby outlet mall. Again, the staff we dealt with was always very friendly and the weeked was just great, exactly what we needed.

It was a newly renovated hotel. There was some difficulty getting the wheelchair from the room to the meeting area.

This hotel made me feel welcome: Everyone was very friendly and polite. They asked several times if we were ok with the accommodations.

My 2YR OLD Son is bitten to pieces from what the Doctor called bed bug bites..AND (INFECTED) Cellulitis. We just left there 6 days ago (8-16-07) The room was filthy, had mildew in the bathtub and a busted in door. (WHICH HALF THE TIME WE COULDN'T OPEN). The room had a stinch in which we could not identify??? The mattress was nasty and the pillows were lumpy. Never again will I WILL I EVER. EVER. EVER STAY AT FERNWOOD. What does it take for to be classified as a HOTEL/ RESORT??? Not much if you are Fernwood. I GUESS. And this is a time share resort, you couldn't even give me a share!!! I WILL FOLLOW THE OTHER BED BUG BITTEN PERSON AND SEEK LEGAL COUNSEL , There must be inspections that need to be done on hotels after they are notified of Bed Bug ...... I Will send fernwood pics as well as post them online, of my son's PAINFUL, RED, SWOLLEN LEGS. HE IS ONLY 2 AND CAN BARELY WALK RIGHT NOW, Due To his Pain. Thanks for a ruined vacation.. and medical bills on top of TRAVELERS BEWARE!!!!!! Website misleads you to believe this is a nice resort... not!!

My family of 4 stayed at this poor excuse of a resort the last week of July, 2007. We were moved 3 times in 24 hours: 1st time, the villa was infested with flies, the 2nd villa's jacuzzi was draining into the master bedroom carpet causing mold/mildew and the 3rd villa, I got bedbugs.

The resort is rundown, not maintained, looks NOTHING like the website. It seems to be stuck in a 1970's time warp. The villa that we ended up in was rundown, dirty, the furniture was worn and torn, the carpet filthy.

The clientele looks like they came from a third world country. We did not let our 2 teenage girls out of our sight for fear for their safety.

I'm in a battle right now with management over a refund for my stay because of the bedbugs. ABSOLUTELY, the MOST horrific, disgusting, dirty place we have ever stayed at.

It is just an average place to stay.
