Central to the Financial District, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, The Fairmont San Francisco is located at the only spot in San Francisco where each of the City's cable car lines meet. The recently completed restoration of the hotel has made this a great place to stay. The rooms and suites are spacious and elegantly decorated. The best views are from the rooms in the Tower, so get one these if you can! There are 2 restaurants and lounges, which both seem fine, although the service in breakfast restaurant can be a little slow, the food is nice. There is a Health and Fitness Center, although there is a fee for this, as there is a fee for the internet access. Although to use both of these for free you can fill out a little form and join the Fairmont Club, which costs nothing!! The hotel is certainly historical as in 1945, delegates from 40 countries met in the historic Garden Room to draft the Charter for the United Nations. The staff here are efficient and polite.

The room was fine - it was the noise! Outside trams and doors slamming extra loud and the cleaners coming and knocking on the door at 9am so we learnt to always have the privacy sign on the door until we left for the day.
