Central to the Financial District, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf, The Fairmont San Francisco is located at the only spot in San Francisco where each of the City's cable car lines meet. The recently completed restoration of the hotel has made this a great place to stay. The rooms and suites are spacious and elegantly decorated. The best views are from the rooms in the Tower, so get one these if you can! There are 2 restaurants and lounges, which both seem fine, although the service in breakfast restaurant can be a little slow, the food is nice. There is a Health and Fitness Center, although there is a fee for this, as there is a fee for the internet access. Although to use both of these for free you can fill out a little form and join the Fairmont Club, which costs nothing!! The hotel is certainly historical as in 1945, delegates from 40 countries met in the historic Garden Room to draft the Charter for the United Nations. The staff here are efficient and polite.

I did not expect a $57.00 a night valet parking fee--I thought that was a bit excessive. Other than that, our stay was enjoyable. We love the location. We only stayed one night, but overall our experience at the Fairmont was very nice.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Fairmont San Francisco.
I might recommend it to friends.

The room was fine - it was the noise! Outside trams and doors slamming extra loud and the cleaners coming and knocking on the door at 9am so we learnt to always have the privacy sign on the door until we left for the day.

Mediocre
Stayed while my husband attended a medical conference. I was shocked at how outdated the hotel was. Granted the public spaces were lovely and felt very grand, but the room itself was old, old, old. Everytime someone uttered a word in the hall or...

I stayed here for two nights for my girlfriend's birthday. The staff was very friendly and even upgraded us from a Deluxe room to a Signature Room for free, which was a corner room in the tower. This gave us a magnificent view of the city from two...

Excellent
I chose to stay at the Fairmont because of the classic old world appearance of the public rooms. The staff was attentive and very nice. The room I received turned out to be a great value as I was given a single night stay upgrade to a tower room...
