The Fairmont Empress has been completely restored and is a landmark hotel in Victoria. The rooms are styled in quite an old fashioned way but are very comfortable and clean with some lovely views of the harbour, city or courtyard. There's a variety of places to eat in the hotel and I thought the choice of food was excellent, as was the service. Afternoon tea in the Tea Lobby is fantastic and certainly fills you up, or you can have curry in the Bengal Lounge, fine dining in The Empress Room or a Sunday Brunch in Kipling's - I tried all of these and they were great! There's a fully-equipped gym with saunas, indoor heated pool and whirlpool area as well as the full service Willow Stream Spa. The staff here are great - always friendly and willing to help.

We went to a conference (which adjoins the Fairmont Empress) and even though the hotel was contracted to be the Host Hotel allot of attendees stayed at other facilities. (Smart) It’s a beautiful hotel for being constructed in 1906.

The location of the Fairmon Empress is wonderful. The hotel sits on the harbour and it is really breath taking at night. The hotel is very nice.
Rooms were not as big was we though it was, but nevertheless, it was comfortable and nice. The views from our hotel at night were very nice. The swimming pool was great. The hotel service and staff were helpful and friendly.
During our first night, we ate at the hotel and it was a great dining experience. The food was wonderful and so was our waiter. For what you get, the price for each night is a steal. I would come back again!

Okay
There is no high-speed wireless internet in the rooms. Bathroom was not spotlessly clean. Some rooms are pretty small. There was usually a line-up at the front desk. Poor water pressure in the shower. Lovely old-fashioned hallways. Afternoon tea is...
