Fairfield Inn by Marriott Virginia Beach Motel - Page 1

This former, Howard Johnson's or whatever has all exterior door entrances. One side faces a busy highway. While the furnishings are up to Marriott standards the facility shows its age and is very "rough around the edges."

We arrived and was told that the room rate quoted was not the same for the additional night we wanted. The King size room had a queen bed and not a king bed. There were no microwave of refridgerator in the room. When we called the front desk, we were told that these amenities were by request only. When the microwave did arrive, it had a broken dial. There was no coffee pot in the room. When we called we were told that coffee pots are not normally in the room and we should use cups as the percolater only did a cup at a time. The continental breakfast in the morning was a nice surprise which helped to make the remainder of our stay pleasant.

The only complaint was an alarm clock going off at six a.m. for a half hour. We called the front desk and no one ever came to shut it off. This happened both mornings we were there.

The bathroom seemed small and likewise the room compared to other Fairfield Inns.
