Fairfield Inn by Marriott Phoenix Hotel

In an old commercial, a certain hotel chain used the phrase, "We'll keep the lights on for you." Well, that's what the Fairfield Inn-Phoenix Airport did for us, even though that wasn't their commercial. We arrived about 2:00AM after traveling about 12 hours that day. We were tired, and the room was just perfect for us to get a good night's sleep. It was clean and the beds were very comfy. The only thing I can say negative was that there was a couple of pieces of hair in the bathroom, but I know hair is hard to get cleaned up. I'm very pickey, heck, I bring along Lysol wipes. The bathroom, however, was very clean. The hair did not take away from my positive feeling about the hotel. The breakfast was awsome: fruit, bagels, English muffins, boiled eggs, yogurt, several juices and coffee, but the best was the waffles that you make yourself. FYI, you don't need to pour the entire cup of mix into the machine. I learned that the messy way. We've stayed at about 4 or 5 Fairfields, and will keep coming back. They never let us down. This one was actually probably the best one we've stayed at. You won't go wrong here. In the morning I went to the front desk to ask for towels and bathrags. The girl gave them to me right there, so I didn't even have to wait for them to be delivered.

What's not to love about this place? Free airport shuttle, free breakfast, free newspaper, free local phone calls, FREE HIGH SPEED INTERNET THAT WORKS, free exercise room, free refrigerator in the room, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and most importantly a staff that will bend over backwards for you!

I needed a ride to my company's Phoenix office about 8 miles away after my rental car wouldn't start (thanks, Thrifty). I had a very important meeting that I COULD NOT be late for. Although they don't advertise a free shuttle to the local area, I explained my situation to the manager, and within three minutes their shuttle had whisked me away to my office! NO CHARGE!

When I got back to the hotel from my meeting, the rental car company still hadn't come to fix the car. The front desk guy offered to hold the key so when they finally showed up, I wouldn't have to be bothered. Later that evening, the phone rings and the hotel front desk guy tells me the car is fixed and the keys are waiting for me at the front desk. FANTASTIC SERVICE!!!

I had the heebie-jeebies at this place because I saw a lot dead bugs in various places, in the carpet, bed linens, and even inside the picture frames under the glass. When I called the front desk to complain, they moved me to another room which had the same problem. I was promised a prompt refund, which took me many phone calls and about two months to get.

It was better than average for the price.

It was as expected for the service and facilities.
