Fairfield Inn by Marriott Gastonia Hotel

My wife and I stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Gastonia just last week. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and the room very clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, something very important to us since my wife has back problems. The room was quiet, even though we had a few high school sports teams on the same floor for some big playoff in Gastonia that week.

The free complimentary breakfast was particularly good, with staff standing-by to clean up and to resupply. They actually had microwavable breakfast sandwiches which were pretty good and a good upgrade from typical continental Breakfast fare. Thank you Fairfield Inn for a very enjoyable stay.

I am a non smoker and very much agree with the non-smoking policy.

While I was out of the room a guest of mine must have smoked a cigarette. I was unaware of this and wouldn't have allowed it to happen. I look on my credit card statement and these money hungry people charged me $250.00 knowing they are not going to do anything to that room. They also fluctuate on the price a lot.

I talked to several people to no avail. I will never stay at another Marriott as long as I live and if I were you I wouldn't either. There is no telling what other hidden fines they have because they make no mention of the dollar amount on the website or any literature you sign.

There's a Best Western right near there that is a lot nicer and all of the rooms have refrigerators. In my opinion, stay away.

The bathroom had two spindles, but no toilet paper when we arrived! The bed was kind of soft. It had the sink outside of the bathroom. There was a nice breakfast.

This Fairfield is typical of all Fairfield Inns I have stayed at. It's very clean, the staff very friendly, and it has comfortable beds.

This hotel made me feel respected: We received a very cordial welcome at check in and check out.

It was a pleasurable stay, and we will do it again.
