Fairfield Inn by Marriott Birmingham Hotel - Page 2

I was using my Marriott Awards points to pay for the room. I therefore paid nothing but pretty much got nothing. I was given a room adjacent to the office and the room was flooded in the bathroom and had fleas. I tried to get the room changed but was told there were no other rooms available and we were exhausted. We slept in our clothes on top of the bedspread using blankets from our van under and over us. I have never had such a terrible experience at a Marriott, which is usually impeccably clean and in good repair. Since I have stayed in many Marriotts of every variety, I felt this was an isolated case. Hopefully, it is not policy to give patrons using their points the worst room in the hotel.

The employees were friendly.

We belong to the marriott rewards program and try to stay at a marriott property whenever possible. This could be a fairfield inn, marriott courtyard, or a marriott hotel.

Hotel adequate as expected when traveling for business. No frills and don't expect any. Although to feel it was cleaner would be nice and a decent, edible breakfast bar would be n.
