List of good: large room, indoor hot tub, pool. Less good: Hard uncomfy king bed, tiny uncomfy pillows. Could hear people through walls at night. Elevator had out-of-order sign part of our stay, had to use stairs, OK unless you have luggage (we were on third floor); before that, elevator once acted for a moment like it wasnt going to let us out. Breakfast bar lacked attendant and more importantly, water, (even empty pitchers), hot or cold (first complimentary breakfast I ever saw that didnt have hot or cold water or tea); forced to drink juice with juice cups so tiny I gave up on refills long before my thirst was quenched (we skipped their breakfast the second morning). When we turned on wall-mounted TV in breakfast room around 7 a.m., (figured it was there to watch), grumpy manager/owner (think thats what he was) rushed in, said loudly it must be turned down because there's a guest room just other side of wall (thin walls, yeah we noticed that). "We only turned it on, we didn't adjust volume," we said humbly, which only drew continued grumpy mumbling from him as he fiddled with the volume. We were there two nights; when they made up room second day, shorted us towels and left no washcloths or hand towels. Desk people were nice enough; as we left woman at desk asked how things were. I said a half-hearted "OK," but when she pressed, I said well, we didn't get good towel refills and the bed was really hard (just wanted to go, didn't list all the complaints). Grumpy owner/manager standing right beside kept his head down. She said well you should have let us know about problems and we would have addressed them. (Dont know how they address cheap, hard beds, and elevators that they know are broken, but anyway.) I told her we find it unpleasant to have to complain (the way we express unhappiness with any business is never to go there again). I told her we always stayed at Hampton Inn when in Baton Rouge but had decided to come to Fairfield because it was $30 a night cheaper but since things are always very satisfactory at Hampton Inn, guess we would continue to go there and pay more. She offered no reduction and really, apologies are not that helpful.
