Failinger's Hotel Gunter Hotel - Page 1

My husband and I stayed here on a business trip. It’s in a good central location for the town of Frostburg and the university, it’s right on Main Street with a place for breakfast and lunch across from it. It’s one of the creepiest places I've stayed in, especially if you've watched one too many episodes of "Haunted Travels".

Guests must park in a back alley way that is dimly lit at night. You enter through the old underground prison where the old cells are filled with taxidermy and some freaky mannequins, I'm not making this up! Be prepared to spend awhile in check-in, which I don't recommend doing after the dinner hour, as the sole desk clerk goes to bed. The hotel also has a mixture of apartments so you have some interesting neighbors.

The rooms are all very slanted, it was built in the 1840s and the bathroom has large windows with no curtains, so all of Frostburg can see you shower. I swear I thought I was in a Hitchcock movie. If you want a "memorable" hotel experience, this is for you.
