I chose this hotel for a business trip in early August 2007. I checked in, the clerk at the desk was quite friendly. When I opened the door to my room, I was hit by the odor of cigarette smoke and stale beer. I requested a non smoking room. When I went to the front desk to complain, I was told there were no more rooms and was given an ionizer to clean the air. The ionizer didn't help. I also discovered the air conditioning wasn't working and the furniture was in sad shape. The fronts of drawers look like they had been broken off. The top of the desk was missing a large chunk of particle board. I checked out and found another place to stay.
This may have been an isolated incident. It seemed like there was a wild party in that room recently, but I now stay at a hotel in the Marriott chain when I visit Danvers.
