I stayed at this hotel because I had a meeting early the next day in Newcastle and I didn't want to have to get up at 4am just to make sure I got there in time. So the purpose of this visit was purely to put my head down and sleep before getting back to work the next day.
The hotel was very close to the train station - just a five minute walk away. I had forgotten to print out a map before I left the office the previous day, but the maps from the station (only £1) show the location of the hotel very clearly, so after buying one I found the place without a problem.
Staff at reception were helpful, polite and brief which is always good when you've come in from a long journey and you're tired and hungry! Upon entering the room, I found it to be fairly dull, but large-ish and it had all the amenities (TV, kettle, hairdryer, towels etc.) I would require for my one night stay. The bathroom was very small but it had a shower, sink and toilet which is all you need and these were in good order.
I slept well and awoke refreshed the next morning. Breakfast was nothing amazing but had all the basics (cereal, toast, eggs, tea, coffee) so I didn't go hungry and had a fairly decent start to my day. Checkout went smoothly so no complaints there. Overall this is a good, cheap hotel option if you are just using the hotel to rest and spend the day elsewhere.
