The hotel was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they went out of their way at help with directions. We arrived early and they have a luggage room. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable with a shower area next to the toilet area.
The continental breakfast is serve yourself above the reception and there is a lovely bar next to reception. It was a great base for exploring Edinburgh as it was only a 10-minute walk up to Princess Street and another 10 minutes up to the Royal Mile. We had lunch in Slug & Lettuce across the street in the Omni Complex (modern glass building) and dinner at Harvey Nicholls, again, only 10 minutes along the road from the hotel next to Saint Andrews Square. Will stay at this Express again, they have a friendly reception, clean rooms, and breakfast is included in the price. It’s all you need when you are touring around Scotland.
