(1)When we tried to get into our room the card keys did not work so we were given a real key (2)The television remote control did not work. (3)The dead bolt on the inside of the room was broken off. (4)A man opened our door and walked in when I was walking around fresh out of the shower! (5)We found grape stems in between our toes, between the sheets in the middle of the night (6) There was a foul smell, we just sprayed the room with our own Lysol. (7) We started smelling it again so I starting searching for the source of the smell. (8)We opened the drawers and found a bag of garbage caught between 2 drawers containing cigarette butts, food garbage, soda cans, dirty tissues and clothes tags. When the man walked into our room (we could'nt lock the inside dead bolt as it was broken)we finally called the front desk. The boy at the desk said he would be right over, but instead called us back and told us that the maid had made a mistake. He could not explain to us why they would want to come into the room so late. we figured maybe because it had not been cleaned, but the bed was made when we arrived! We have stayed here numerous times with minor problems every time. When my place of business has fundraisers we stay here because the location is convenient and the grounds are beautiful with a wonderful view of the mountains. We were charged a smoking fee of $100.00. I called the hotel and the lady took my name and number and said the manager would call me back shortly. I called back and was told that he would not be in for a week. When I told her that I had talked to her that morning she stated that she just found out that he would not be there. I asked for a corporate number and she stated that she did not have that information and had no way of contacting anyone else for me to talk to. She was the only person I could talk to. I am truly disgusted with the whole situation and would not recommend this location to ANYONE.

Excellent
Good selection of TV channels.Construction work on hotel starts early in the morning. The rooms at the front are renovated and quite nice. The rooms in the back are old, worn, and generally disappointing.

Good
We were at soccer tournament and we could walk to field. Our room on the 2nd floor overlooked the fields.Someone was using the Jacuzzi next to my room at 10:30 at night. It was very noisy, and we could not sleep until it was turned off hours later....

I have stayed in hotels that were not particularly clean, like this one, and a bit decrepit, like this one, but I have never stayed in a hotel where the manager was disgusted to have guests stay their. I actually apologized to him for thinking that my patronage would be welcomed. He was extremely rude. Our request for an hour late check out was denied because the maid needed to get in the room -- the hotel was not full and it was a Sunday. I've never had a request for a late check out denied. To make matters worse, 30 minutes before check out, I was accosted by the staff demanding to know when I would get out. There were two towels for four people. When I went to the lobby to ask for two more, the manager continued a several minute conversation with a staff member, before angrily asking me what I needed. He grunted to the helper that she should go get me two pool towels. The coffee supplies were not replaced. The bathroom door was falling off. THERE WAS MOLD IN THE SHOWER!!! There were hairs stuck to the wall in the bathroom. The BEDS were hard as a rock. The bedspreads stained. The old shower rod apparently had fallen off and a new one put it in, but there were open holes in the wall. There was paint on the light fixtures, but not on parts of the wall. I suppose I might be angry too if I had to work in this wreck. There are other options very close. Check them out. You don't need to be treated like trash at any hotel.

Horrible
I like that the room had a big bed and it was comfortable. The new renovations where overly sensationalized. There were corners cut everywhere and it looked sloppy. Outside was sloppy as well. Upon my reserving this hotel room I was expecting to be...
Close to Gilroy. The key got demagnetized & they reset it without asking for any ID. Not clean, not safe for female travelers, rude, expected me to be unconvinced because of their reservation mistake.

Good
Priced right, liked the in-room Jacuzzi easy to find.Hair in vent in Jacuzzi, I actually cleaned it myself. Pretty nice, good price, grounds neat. Other than the small stuff, the hair in tub and the mattress pad not being on the bed we had too fight ...

When trying to discuss an issue with the manager, right away he started yelling at my guests and I, telling us the he is in control of everything and that he didnt want to hear what we wanted to discuss with him. I am a technical consultant that teaches "managing the customer experience" to companies throughout the west coast region, and I highly recommend that this persons manager send him to one of my courses or an alike course before the place looses any more business due to his lack of expertise and mannerism. Myself and the companies that I represent will never stay at this hotel again. The manager's attitude is highly unexceptable, especially to folks with standards.
