I used to work at the hotel on the front desk around 14 years ago. Even back then the hotel was not run correctly. You had highly over paid pretentious climbers working in the back offices that did nothing but walk through the hotel trying to look like Joan Collins or something out of Dynasty. I always felt like they looked down on us because we were the lowest on the totum pole. Someone was over house keeping, maintenence, decorating, kitchen, plants, etc. Most of the people had been there for years back to the days of Jim Smith's reign. Many of them were never really qualified, but somehow had managed to float by on hotel tenure (If there is such a thing). I can't begin to tell you how many complaints we would receive on a daily basis at the front desk. People were always dissatisfied with check in, services, odors, quality of food, and accomodations. I used to go home with a head ache each night and vow never to return. Unfortunately I needed the money!!!! It looked like they were making a turn around back in the mid 90's, but I guess being so poorly managed eventually took it's tole. The hotel always had such potential to be grand. It had a lot to offer with the resturants, bars, convention center, shops and galeria, olympic size indoor pool and not to forget it's proximity to downtown and being on the river front. I'm not entirely convinced that with the right people purchasing the property-that it couldn't be resurected. I think that there was some discussion at one point of the city taking it over. If they do they should fork out the money and have the flood wall removed in front and around the hotel. It should be relocated to the back of the hotel. Since all the parking is on the ground level under the hotel, they still would not lose any of their river front views in the rooms above. Of course a nice coat of a paint with some class and bringing in some archictectural detailing at the entrance wouldn't hurt either. This hotel could be a gold mine, but it will take a gold mine to bring it up to par. Much luck Paducah!! The town needs to purchase the hotel if for nothing more than guaranteeing the sucess of the AQS musuem.
The hotel was closed on June 15, 2009. No plans to reopen anytime soon. So if you are planning on coming to Paducah, don't even think about going there.
EXECUTIVE INN HAS BEEN REMODELED AND IT'S A VERY NICE AND BEAUTIFUL PLACE. THE OWNER BEFORE WASNT TAKING CARE OF IT AND NOW SOMEONE ELSE BOUGHT IT AND COMPLETELY REMODELED. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I spent 6 weeks at the Executive Inn this past Spring. At first, like many of you, I felt cheated after visiting the website before I arrived. My company paid for it, so that helped. After about a week, I really started to like it. The staff is...

Thank goodness I read the reviews of this hotel before going to Paducah. I changed my reservations to another hotel, yet went to the E.I. for some meetings. The reviews are right. This place is BAD. Stay somewhere else and drive over to your...
