Our tour group stayed here and this vintage hotel desperately needs refurbishing. The rugs are soiled and spotty, the ceilings have dark spots, and the one elevator only holds six people.
Most disturbing, the hotel is located on a seedy street where it is unsafe for women to walk. Panhandlers, alcoholics and drug users harass anyone who steps outside the lobby.
There is a saving grace: the staff of the hotel and its restaurants are friendly, helpful, and efficient. They cast a bright light amid the lost souls of the Tenderloin area.
