Many other reviews have disparaged this hotel unfairly. I stay in Ritz Carltons; I stay in Hampton Inns. This place is pretty darn good. The rooms are decently sized for a major American city, the hotel is extremely well located, and the service was there when it was needed. The sheets are crisp (the towels are a bit thin), and the rooms are very clean. Many have complained of a bad smell in the hotel. That smell, folks, is the smell of an old building - there's nothing wrong with it, and it is so subtle you soon won't notice it. Others complain about the (free) continental breakfast. What's to complain about? The coffee is excellent and the juice fresh-squeezed. Better yet if you don't like the crowded lobby - the best breakfast in town is two blocks downhill (east) on Bush at Cafe de la Presse. It's a French joint - and the real thing at that. Try the Mocha and don't miss the French Toast.
