Excelsior Hotel Manhattan

We just returned from a week at the Excelsior and enjoyed it very much. Our room was basic but nice since we had special flight/hotel rates. The room was always very clean and we slept really well with no street noise. The metro stop and Central Park are just a few minutes away and there are all kinds of wonderful restaurants nearby.

The hotel had an excellent location. They served a very good breakfast. There was too much street noise heard in the room facing the street.

The place was super clean and considered luxury but there were no vending machines, coffee makers or any way of even getting a drink and a snack after five o'clock in the afternoon. There was not even a restaurant. There was one bottle of water in the room. I just think they need to take better care of their after hours guests.

The Excelsior Hotel on New York's upper west side is a pretty good value. The location is perfect, it's directly across the street from the Museum of Natural History & Central Park. There's a lot to do in the neighborhood if you are traveling with kids. The rooms are large and comfortable.

Everything was fine. I had no complaints except for the lack of hot water one morning, but the problem was fixed and the front desk politely provided information about this problem when we called down.
