I spent 4 days at Excalibur from May 11 thru 14th.
Front desk checked us into wrong room, double bed not king as requested. Easy enough to fix, a front desk call and 30 mins later in a king room.
However, toilet is running, every 30 mins damn thing flushes on it's own and is loud. Call to complain Plumber will be up soon (never comes).
Casino is filled with little kids; now I was prepared for this a little as it's a medieval themed casino with an arcade, but get your strollers out of the casino.
Next dealers were poorly trained several times I was paid on a loss or dealer tried to take my bet on a win. I had to complain to the pit boss constantly. I mean I am not expecting the best dealers in the world at a 10 dollar table, but come on.
Next Sports book.. I laid down 200 on the pistons and wings being from Detroit (which is dumb but hey) and go and sit down in a chair in the book. Waitress comes around i try and order a drink, she asks me for a drink slip. A what? Yes apparently the unhappy folks behind the sports book counter give you drink slips as you bet, 5 bux equals a bet slip and one free drink.. I go and ask for some, they won't give me any without betting, I said lady I just spent 200 bux on bets, but oh no you gotta ask when you bet. No to be fair I guess some other more gracious folks behind the sports book counter gave them out to all betters without asking, but the nasty chick I got was not so generous. So I had to lay out another 30 bux in bets on horses just to get a few drinks while enjoying the sports games... (stupid idea)
To sum it up. I have stayed at the Hilton, Orleans, Hooters, Gold Coast, MGM and now Excalibur.. Scratch that one of your list. Remember you get what you pay for, and what seems like a good room rate comes with a hefty price tag.
