Europa Gatwick Hotel Hotel - Page 1

This was the worst expereince I have had in a UK hotel. Rooms awful (we had 2!), bathrooms filthy, staff rude and unhelpful, breakfast incredbly poor and the beds !!!! Fawlty Towers would be luxury in comparrison!

The location was convenient and close to Gatwick airport. The lobby smelt of smoke since it opened into the bar. The check in line was very slow, although with our prepaid reservation we got checked in very quickly. The room was rather shabby, with peeling wallpaper. The areas around and above the bathtub had mildew. The mattresses were sagging and uncomfortable. In order to make a phone call, we had to return to the front desk and give them our credit card. We saw a rat in the parking lot. We had been looking forward to using the pool, only to find out there was a daily charge and it was closed to children after seven o'clock in the evening. The fire doors were rough and my husband got a bad splinter while opening one.
