Definitely would recommend

36 year old female with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
Through the years, I've stayed in every type of housing that Epworth has to offer. There is a huge difference in the accomodations; however, they are all clean- much cleaner than hotels you find off the conference center grounds. I'm sure the lack of smoking and drinking in the rooms has helped in this being the case. The food has never been outstanding- it's Aramark- and it's not exciting but it's not bad. Those of us that have been there a lot know that you definitely want to leave the grounds to have a steak at Bennie's or go for seafood at one of the local restaurants. I never tire of going to Epworth with its relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

57 year old male with a economy budget, traveling for business
Having been raised on church camps, I wondered what to expect when I was chosen to attend a week long conference at Epworth By The Sea. I was pleasantly surprised! The setting is beautiful, the people wonderful, and resources top notch. Though not a five star hotel, it compares favorably with the best of the cheaper motel chains (e.g. Red Roof Inn). If you choose to eat on site, you will be served a buffet of good food from a variety of traditions during the course of a week.
Whether traveling as an individual, as a couple, or as a family, Epworth By The Sea comes with a strong recommendation.

Off the beaten path

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is off the beaten path and offers something low key - just the thing if you need a quiet get away. Shopping, beach, and low key sights are within easy reach. You don't need to be part of a group to come. We've come with our children and then for a few days as a couple.

A nice pastoral family place

This is the place to come when you want to be at the beach without all the craziness.
The landscaped areas are beautiful and harkens back to earlier, more relaxed times. The rooms vary in cost and quality, but for not much money, you can have a comfortable clean place. If you are looking for a family retreat or a group getaway this is the place to be!
If you are looking for a place to party, look elsewhere as smoking and drinking are not permitted. (Thank goodness for those of us with allergies to smoke!) Relaxing is the word here. The food here can be very good, especially on the "public" side. The camp foods are lower in quality due to cost restrictions.

It is not top-notch but it is nice enough and it has pretty gardens to wander around in. The food has always been disappointing. When we arrived we had to wait until two o'clock to check in because the group before us had not left yet, but other than that we had a nice stay.
