Mediocre
Overall the hotel should have been a nice experience. My children and I experienced bites overnight and the staff appeared completely disinterested. The room was small but adequate with comfortable beds. It is hard to say much nice about a hotel...
64 year old male with a moderate budget, traveling for leisure
The hotel was well located and apparently, a good value for this town, despite its rather dated appearance. The front desk, makes this inn live up to its reputation. A ten dollar daily parking fee includes unlimited in and out but if you do not intend to use your car, find street parking or a five dollar garage. The breakfast buffet is just okay. I suggest you go to Harry's, opposite Von's parking lot, open at six a.m.
The personality of the front desk staff was great. I was personally escorted to the computer station by the manager. They offered to print out boarding passes if the terminal was busy with other guests.
I am somewhat likely
to return to the Empress Hotel Of La Jolla.
I might recommend it to friends.
29 year old female with a economy budget, traveling for leisure
I stayed at the Empress Hotel for my brother's wedding in La Jolla. For the first two nights, the spacious room accommodated my parents, my brother, myself, and numerous gift bags, fancy dresses, and bottles of wine. I spent a day working remotely, using the hotel's Internet and it was fast and free. The pullout couch was one of the comfiest I've ever slept on and when I moved into my own room with my boyfriend, we found the beds comfortable as well. The complimentary breakfast had plenty of options, all edible, and we enjoyed eating on the open-air terrace where we met up with other family members and wedding guests. The hotel is ideally situated near shops, restaurants, the beach, and all the seals. If the hotel staff can happily deal with my family, they can certainly take care of yours, too.
I am very likely
to return to the Empress Hotel Of La Jolla.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.
