Embassy Suites are pretty consistent hotels, and this one was no different ? with the exception, of course, of the swan pond in the lobby. It is Vegas, after all.
The rooms were simple and clean, with plenty of space to stretch out. The hotel isn?t located directly on the Strip but they run shuttles to multiple points on the Strip several times each hour, so it?s not really a big deal. (Try to get back really late, however, and you?ll be cabbing it ? but it?s less than $10 from ANYWHERE on the Strip back to the Embassy Suites.)
The evening wine reception is actually worth attending, and they serve some good appetizers that will tide you over in advance of any late dinner. The staff is great and on more than one occasion came up to our room to deliver bottled water and snacks, free of charge. We were really impressed with this particular location, and while we do prefer to stay on the Strip, this was an inexpensive way to take a last-minute trip to Vegas.
My two favorite parts of the hotel: First, the pool area, which was deserted at night. We sat outside on the lounge chairs and just watched the planes taking off and landing from McCarron (yes, it?s that close, but so is the rest of Vegas.) The other cool part: The glass elevator. It?s just fun. The kids there really loved it.
Also worth noting: No slot machines! Peace and quiet in Las Vegas. The free daily breakfast was also worthy of any breakfast joint in the city ? plenty of custom-made options in addition to the full self-serve setup. Breakfast got crowded quickly and the lines for custom food can take 4 ? 6 minutes, but really ? it was free, so we didn?t really care.
Rates are comparable to most off-Strip brand name hotels, so if you?re looking for something away from the immediate hustle-and-bustle, Embassy Suites is definitely recommended for its value, peace and quiet.
