Embassy Suites Chicago Downtown - Page 1

My first visit to Chicago and Embassy Suites was the topping on the cake. It was great. Everyone was so helpful. Planning to go next year and will stay on State Street at the Embassy Suites.

Went to Chicago for a baseball game and really enjoyed just about everything this hotel had to offer. The location was very nice. We didn't drive, so we didn't pay the "outrageous" parking costs about which others complained. The hotel was only one block from the subway station, which was very convenient. It was easy to get just about everywhere and only a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile.

Our room was not ready on arrival, about an hour before checkin time, so the bellmen took care of delivering our bags to our room when it was ready. The room was nice and clean--one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've seen. The sofa bed was comfortable. The hotel room was very spacious. The pool was a bit small and crowded with kids (and adults) doing cannonballs and leaping and such.

The complementary drinks were nice, but the line formed quickly. The breakfast the next morning was very nice. Cooked to order and the omelets were delicious. A great stay.

Past experience with Embassy's put this at the top of my list. Room condition was a disappointment. Stood in several inches of water while showering. Fingerprints on all the glass in the hotel (and there is a lot of it!). Parking was extremely high. Great Breakfast. Great location. Would probably check out a different hotel next time in the area.

It seems when you live in a big city you kind of take for granted how great it is ....well that happened to me, but until last year I decided to go ahead and stay with my significant other for 2 nights in Downtown Chicago to explore what we never would have seen. I tell ya the Hotel was Primo the price just a bit more than what Id usually pay (was worth going all out though) for a room. Check-in was a breeze and the room was comfortable and the staff was very helpful with any questions we had with the room.

Of course being a Chicagoan I pretty much knew what to look for out in the town. This was pretty much a 2 night out mini-vacation because I don't usually pay for a room as nice as this heh heh as a traveling musician I see many good and bad ones but all in my budget.
