Great locale, Dominic's Grocery Store across the street, right next door is AMC movie theater and bowling alley, and next to that Walgreens. 7 minute walk east to Navy Pier, 10 minute walk south to Buckingham Fountain and Millenium Park, 7 minute walk west to Magnificant Mile. 1 block north great indian restaurant if you can find it and PJ Clarke's just downstair. Hotel was magnificant just like the city, and I cannot say enough of the hotel staff as everyone was friendly and welcome everyone with a smile and are eager to assist. Knowledgeable, friendly, and overall outstanding service. The breakfast of course is always the best at Embassy Suites made-to-order eggs, but the food in chicago just tasted fresher and flavorful than many places. Thats one thing we noticed the food everyone in chicago was the best and its best to come during the Taste of Chicago festival. And the best feature of the hotel is the grand piano in the lobby and glass elevators so you can see out. Overall definiate worth every cent, I will be staying here again, great place for anyone. oh and I did have a lake view room but I think the city view would've been much more beautiful at night with the lights from the grand city. Definiately bring comfortable shoes, and don't forget to check the Hershey's factory in the Magnificant Mile and the Lego Store in the Nordstrom building/mall.

This hotel had the most spacious and comfortable rooms I ever stayed at. The cook to order breakfast everyday was great as well. Would definately stay again. And, would definately stay at an Embassy Suites in the future.

Stayed here in June of 2008. Upgraded room to one with a view of the lake. Got there and basically if you look at the bottom of the window to the right, you see a tiny bit of the lake through other buildings. Went down and said - no way - give me the lesser price and another room with no "view." They gave me a discount and the room next to the one I had. No toilet paper, no soap. I went down again and they promised they'd fix. Came back 2 hours later, still no TP or soap. Not enough towels and the people at the front desk could not stop making up excuses. They had major attitude as well. Sure, it's a great location, but there are plenty of hotels downtown Chicago. It's not worth it for the price.
